Aspiring young car writers searching for a gateway into motoring journalism may want to start typing and enter The Sir William Lyons Award 2009. The Sir William Lyons Award, which is sponsored by Jaguar and promoted by The Guild of Motoring Writers, is free to enter and open to anyone aged between 17 and 23, of British nationality and resident in the United Kingdom. Every performance car, MPV and large saloon on sale today is under threat from proposed legislation limiting CO2 emissions to an average of 120g/km by 2012, CAR Online has learned. EU environment commissioner Stavros Dimas is expected to announce the shock new directive in the next few days - it's designed to force companies to meet tough targets or face big fines. CAR Online has uncovered details of the proposals before they are published.
Chrysler Group's product renaissance is a drama in two acts. First, the company is breathing new life into its existing lineup. Highlights include the redesigned 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee, which the automaker started shipping to dealerships in early July, and the re-engineered and restyled Chrysler 300 and Dodge Charger rear-drive sedans, both coming in the first quarter of 2011.
